Married Couples: We have a multitude of groups for married couples spanning the various stages of adult life—young families, empty nesters, retirees, etc. Groups study a variety of topics ranging from the Christian life, Scripture, matters of faith and truth, marriage, parenting, etc. Groups typically meet from September through April or May, with summer breaks and informal gatherings to stay in touch. |

Mixed Groups (Couples and Singles): We have groups that are composed of both married couples as well as adults who are single. They enjoy the diversity this brings, and are excited to include you if you’d like to join them. Groups typically meet from September through April or May, with summer breaks and informal gatherings to stay in touch. |

Single Adults: Staying connected as a single adult is critical to growing and developing as a follower of Christ. Sometimes the circumstances of your singleness can be painful and challenging. We want you to know you have a home with us. We have groups that meet throughout the week that are led by and consist of single adult members. We’d love for you to be a part of one. |

Wednesday AM Women's Groups: We are women helping each other to align our hearts to God through faith, fellowship, and friendship. Regardless of the various seasons of life, all are welcome. Meeting on Wednesdays, 9:30-11:30 am. Studies for 2011-2012: 9/28 through 4/25 with holiday breaks This fall's study is Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, a book about healthy emotions and contemplative spirituality. Many sincere followers of Christ—despite being passionate for God, involved in a church, and who may considered "mature"—remain stuck living out patterns of relational immaturity, especially in regards to personal conflicts and crises. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality recommends an approach to spiritual growth that address this void, offering a powerful process to transformation that will help readers mature into an authentic relational faith and a profound love for God. The costs for the curriculum is $22 and will be collected during the first two weeks of the semester. |

| We also designate our groups based on our model of healthy community called the Four Cores (see FAQ page). These four essential areas represent the essence of community life at LW. They also represent the four different styles of groups at Living Word. Groups will emphasize one area, while still practicing the other three, in order to best meet people where they are at on their journey. |

Groups with a relate emphasis will focus on the importance of healthy connections with others while studying scripture and seeking God through prayer. All of our adult small groups that meet in homes are “R” Groups. |
![]() |
Groups with a learn emphasis will underscore the need to build your knowledge of God and the spiritual life while still connecting relationally with others. Our “L” Groups meet on Tuesday nights at the church as part of the Journey with Jesus series. |
![]() |
Groups with an encounter focus will explore what it means to be intimate with Jesus by using a spiritually formative process to nurture transformation. (Please contact the Growth Group Office for more information.) |
![]() |
Groups with a serve emphasis will seek to be actively working on ways to bless others in a practical way while still staying connected to each other and praying for each other. (This type of group is in the beginning stages and is based on tasks that may vary. Please contact the Growth Group Office for more information.) |
You are welcome to investigate which of these types of groups is the next best step in your spiritual journey!
